Following the Reader is an app for self-created audiobooks for children. Here, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends can record themselves reading a book to their little one, on the spot, or remotely. If mom and dad can’t sit down and read a book at any given moment, if a family member or loved one is far away, stories can be read and saved to the account, allowing the little one to click and listen, whenever they want! Following the Reader allows for minimal screen use, as the child simply clicks the orange "Listen to Story" button, then clicks on the photo of the reader with the book, and listens with the book in hand.
As the recorder, simply log-in with the blue log-in button, click the stack of books/camera to take a photo with the book, record, and upload! While recording, the icon of a book at the bottom of the screen can be clicked whenever you turn the page, as you record. This function adds a page-turning sound to your recording, so the child can be prompted to turn the page of their own book when following along.
Want to delete a story thats saved? No problem! Simply hold down the picture of the story, where you can then click the "x" and delete.
Logged-in users can also check out the "Books you might like" feature, which provides a link to the apps website, www.followingthereaderapp.com. Here, you can listen to stories promoted by the authors themselves, purchase books, and more!
Following the Reader promotes a love of reading, learning to follow along in a story, while listening to loved ones read.
